Come explore Purgatory Creek by bicycle at the 2nd annual Cycle the Creek event!
At 50 square miles, the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District is home to many diverse water resources, including three creeks, fifteen lakes, and many acres of wetlands. Our community boasts extensive walking and biking trails, perfect for enjoying these water bodies, and this fall the watershed district is partnering with the City of Eden Prairie to host an 6-mile, family-friendly, bicycle ride along Purgatory Creek. At stops on the way we’ll discover new things about Purgatory Creek and the water bodies it connects, the work the city and watershed district are undertaking to keep them clean, and what you can do to help. This is a family friendly event, and minors need to be accompanied by an adult. Helmets are a must. Space is limited, so register early.

Time: 10 - 11:30 am
Distance: about 6 miles
Meet at: Purgatory Creek Park Pavilion, 13001 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie
We will start and end the ride at the park pavilion. The route is entirely on multi-use trails, with two traffic crossings. These are pretty popular trails, and we'll go over trail etiquette and safety before we leave. This will be an easy paced ride with plenty of stops. The Eden Prairie city-wide open house starts at 11, and a group will be heading over after the ride.
NOTE: The longer recreational ride will not longer be held.
