On February 5, 2014, the District adopted a resolution to support development of a shallow lakes vegetation management plan for Lucy, Mitchell and Red Rock Lakes. The District solicited bids from qualified aquatic biologists. On April 3, 2014, the board selected Wenck Associates to develop the aquatic vegetation management plans. As part of their proposal, a series of four stakeholder meetings will be conducted to develop issues, goals and objectives for managing aquatic vegetation in these lakes. The first meeting for each of those lakes was on April 24th, 2014. Please find below, copies of the presentations as well as an example of of a lake vegetation plan that Wenck Associates developed and general information in regards to shallow lakes.
The City of Eden Prairie (Leslie Stovring) and the City of Chanhassen (Terry Jeffry) have agreed to partner on this effort for their respective lakes. Please feel free to contact me at the below contact information if you have any questions about this project.
