Volunteer Opportunity
Oct 21, 2023, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

** COURTESY POST - Event not sponsored by RPBCWD **

The Friends of Eden Prairie Parks in partnership with the City of Eden Prairie is hosting a buckthorn cut-and-treat removal event.

Each event will begin with a brief review of how to identify buckthorn and instructions on safe glyphosate dauber application. Waivers are required for each event, and each participant. Please email your signed copy (digital or physical signature) to the event lead prior to the event. Physical copies will be available on-site.

All buckthorn events are open to family and friends, however they are not suited to children under 10. Glyphosate daubers are for volunteers aged 18 and older (protective gloves will be provided). Younger participants can help lop or pull small buckthorn plants.

EP Parks Department will have 10 sets of loppers and pruning saws available, along with extra gloves. You are welcome to bring your own favorite non-powered tool of buckthorn destruction, however the use of chainsaws is prohibited in the parks.
