Earth Day Mini Grants Available

For teachers, educators, and students - Deadline April 15

Do you have an idea for an Earth Day or Earth Month activity? The watershed district is offering mini grants to help cover the cost of the materials and support your ideas. Grant awards range from $50 to $250 and are available to teachers, informal educators, and students (advising teacher required) who live or work within the watershed district. Deadline is April 15.



  • Projects must take place within the watershed district
  • Projects must have a water resources component

Project examples

  1. Cleaning up trash around the school so it doesn't end up in our lakes and creeks
  2. Cleaning leaves, sticks, dirt and debris from around stormdrains
  3. Planting trees
  4. Building, decorating, or installing rain barrels
  5. Project WET lessons
  6. Purchasing water education materials for immersion teaching


  • Amount: $50 - $250
  • Grants are awarded as a rebate for purchases made
  • A project report and receipts must be provided for refund to be issued
