RPBCWD adopts New 10 Year Water Resources Management Plan
The RPBCWD Board of Managers on July 11, 2018 adopted its 4th generation Water Management Plan: Planning for the Next Ten Years 2018-2027.
On behalf of the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District (RPBCWD) Board of Managers, thank you for your input and assistance in the development of the RPBCWD Watershed Management Plan: Planning for the Next Ten Years 2018-2027 (Plan). The complete Plan is available from the RPBCWD website at: rpbcwd.org.
The Plan was developed with input from RPBCWD Managers, staff and officials from the cities, state agencies, Metropolitan Council, and Hennepin and Scott County. In addition, an intensive public engagement process garnered thoughtful input from watershed residents and lake associations. Input received from the aforementioned parties has resulted in goals, strategies, programs, and projects that will benefit the lakes, streams, wetlands, and groundwater resources within the RPBCWD.
The Plan was prepared and reviewed in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Statute § 103B.231. This process included a formal 60-day review period of the draft Plan between November 20, 2017 and January 19, 2018. The RPBCWD Managers addressed comments and revised the Plan in response to the comments. The process further included a public hearing on March 15, 2018, and a subsequent 90-day review period.
The Plan was approved by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources on June 27, 2018 and adopted by the RPBCWD Board of Managers on July 11, 2018. The requirements of the Plan are now in effect. Please contact the RPBCWD Administrator, Dr. Claire Bleser (email@example.com or 952-607-6512) if you have questions or need assistance with this process.
The RPBCWD looks forward to continued cooperation on projects and programs that benefit our water resources and communities!
