Zebra mussels found in Lake Riley
Last week, a lake service provider notified the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) that they had found zebra mussels on several docks on Lake Riley. This is the first documented infestation within the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District. Please help us prevent the spread by using best practices: clean, drain, dry.

District boundaries updated
On 4/25/2108, the Board of Water and Soil Resources has updated the boundaries of the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District with the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District, Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, Lower Minnesota River Watershed District. These changes were updated based on updated on water drainage information.

Brittle Naiad Found on Lotus Lake
Brittle Naiad was recently found on Lotus Lake for the first time. Brittle Naiad is an invasive aquatic plant that can form dense mats that out-compete native species and interfere with recreational activities like boating, swimming and fishing. The plant breaks easily into pieces that can spread the plant to new locations.
