Chanhassen residents and service groups/organizations are invited to volunteer to assist with cleaning up organic debris in our streets on
Saturday, October 21st from 9:30 am to noon.
NOTE: Rain date is Sunday, October 22nd from 9:30 am to noon.
Volunteers will rake, sweep or shovel leaves, dirt and debris around or close to curbs and streets at designated locations throughout the city.

Phosphorus is a major source of water pollution that causes excessive growth of algae and depletes oxygen needed for fish and native plants. Impervious surfaces, such as city streets and parking lots, provide a pathway for phosphorus to get to local lakes, rivers and streams. Phosphorus on streets comes from decaying organic matter such as leaves, branches and loose dirt. Fall is one of the peak periods for introduction of phosphorus from city streets into local waters.
Brooms, shovels, rakes, and wagons or wheelbarrows to haul any larger debris.
Lawn and leaf bags, trash bags, and gloves.

Where do we meet?
Volunteers are requested to meet in the parking lot outside of the Senior Center at City Hall (see location map) promptly at 9:30 am. Clean-up sites will be assigned and supplies will be distributed as well as instructions.
