Sponsored by the City of Eden Prairie and Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District.

This introductory workshop is for Eden Prairie and RPBCWD residents and will provide an overview on how to identify and manage two common invasive species: Garlic Mustard and Buckthorn.

You must register for the workshop and space is limited. Register here.

Workshop topics will include:

  • How to identify these plants
  • Methods for controlling
  • Site considerations
  • Long-term maintenance
  • Support from the City and RPBCWD

Who is the workshop for? Residents of Eden Prairie and/or the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District (find out if you live in the District at rpbcwd.org/map).

What is the age limit for participants? You must be at least 18 years of age to register. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver for the hands-on portion of the workshop.

What will happen during the workshop? The first part of the workshop will be a presentation inside the park building. The second part of the workshop will occur outside, off-trail in nearby woods so you can practice identification skills and control methods.

What do I need to bring or wear? Wear study, close-toed shoes for walking on uneven terrain. Pants and long sleeves are also recommended. Bring landscaping/gardening gloves if you have them. Tick/insect repellant is advised as we will be walking through vegetation.

Who will be leading the workshop? City and watershed district staff.
